As the class progressed, I started to realize how beneficial technology can be in counseling. Today we live in a world were technology is always within our reach and without it we feel vulnerable. I was hesitant at first about how it can help clients but I realize that is not the case anymore. Especially with children, as I was making my top ten apps post, I stumbled upon a lot of great apps that would be useful for children such as the Breathe, Think, Do with Sesame app. Virtual reality is another tool that counselors can use to help with client’s phobias through exposure therapy. Even counseling through Skype is an option now for individuals who don’t wish to come into an office. I believe that even as time goes by, technology will continue to pass limits and new ways of incorporating it into session will be made.
